Four Victims Wounded at Howe Community Park Sacramento — Unsanctioned Gathering Descends into Chaos
Saturday night, an unauthorized gathering of multiple hundreds of attendees at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade section of Sacramento turned violent when an estimated 20 to 25 gunshots rang out as deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office were in the midst of removing people from the park.
How It Unfolded
Around 6:30 in the evening, the Sacramento County Sheriff was notified concerning individuals possibly carrying concealed weapons at the park. Another caller advised of a possible physical altercation and people leaving the area quickly.
Law enforcement air support was utilized and conducted an aerial search but failed to identify an active fight.
Even so, hundreds of individuals had come together at Howe Community Park for what officials called an unlawful gathering. Responding deputies surrounded the park, switched on their vehicle lights, and dedicated around 15 minutes ordering the crowd to disperse over loudspeakers.
As officers worked to clear the park, between 20 and 25 shots rang out — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.
Victims of the Shooting

Two were treated for immediate injuries, one sustained moderate injuries, and one suffered injuries classified as minor. All four victims were stable.
